Nine in ten workers report that they struggle to cope with the psychological demands of work. A number of leading studies have proven that cycling can reduce stress and anxiety, prevent burnout and help fight depression.

More than two in five workers in the Netherlands take a sick day, higher than the European average. Cycling to work is proven to reduce sickness absence and prevent long term leave from mental ill health. Employees who cycle are found to be more engaged, effective and energised.

How?

WANT TO CYCLE TO WORK OR HELP YOUR EMPLOYEES TO CYCLE MORE?

I WANT TO HELP MY EMPLOYEES TO CYCLE TO WORK

MAKE CYCLING FINANCIALLY ATTRACTIVE FOR EMPLOYEES. HOW?

There are ways to offset the tax of bicycle purchases, such as taking costs from gross salaries. Interest-free loans can also be made available for the purchase of an (electric) bicycle. And you can recognise the contribution that healthy employees make by offering kilometres cycled with days off. For more information: Fietswijzer via: natuurenmilieu.nl or 3pm.nu/fietsstimulering.

GET SUPPORT FROM ZUIDAS COMMUNITY. HOW?

If you incur costs for creating bicycle parking spaces or a shower facility for cyclists, you will be eligible for a contribution of 50% of the implementation costs with a maximum of € 25,000. For this you can contact Hello Zuidas by emailing maryse.martins@hellozuidas.com If you are curious about what an active cycling policy can offer your company, you can request a customized advice from Breikers via 3pm (info@3pm.nu).

IMPLEMENT A CYCLING PROGRAM. HOW?

Call in BYCS to consult your business on how to implement a cycle to work program. Or take something off the shelf - Bike to Work is a fun and effective program for employers to help get their staff on a bike. They are encouraged with interactive events and through ‘Toury’, the Bike to Work app. Join the movement at Bike to Work.
